Shirodhara (Forehead oil flow therapy)

Shirodhara is one of Ayurveda’s most blissful and meditative therapies.

A continuous stream of warm, herbal oil is gently poured over the forehead — specifically the ajna chakra or “third eye” — inducing a deep state of tranquility and mental clarity.

This sacred ritual harmonizes the mind, balances Pitta dosha, and soothes the overactive nervous system.
It helps relieve insomnia, stress, and emotional fatigue, guiding you into profound relaxation.

Shirodhara is a signature Ayurvedic therapy in which warm medicated oil (or other herbal liquid) is poured in a gentle, continuous stream onto the forehead (often at the “third eye” region / Ajna chakra), while the client lies relaxed.

It works primarily on the nervous system, calming the mind, relieving stress, and bringing deep relaxation.
It may be part of a larger detoxification program (such as Panchakarma) or offered as a stand-alone wellness therapy.

A serene flow of oil that quiets thoughts, calms the senses, and reconnects you to your inner peace.

What happens in a session

You lie flat on a special bed, head slightly inclined. Warm herbal oil is poured in a steady thin stream onto the forehead, often for 20-30 minutes, while scalp/neck/head may be gently massaged.
The rest of body may be covered/blanketed to keep body warm and aid relaxation.
After the oil pouring, there may be a gentle head/neck massage followed by a rest period.
You leave feeling quiet, calm, light in the mind, eyes often feel rested.
