What is Ayurveda
The word “Ayurveda” comes from Sanskrit: āyus (आयुस्) meaning “life”, “longevity” or “vitality”, and veda (वेद) meaning “knowledge” or “science”. So Ayurveda literally means “the science/knowledge of life and longevity”.
This highlights the holistic aim of Ayurveda: not just treating illness, but promoting long, healthy, balanced life.
Maricruz Castro
Ayurvedic Bodywork Therapist
My journey into the profound world of Ayurveda began in 2018, when I decided to formalize my lifelong curiosity about natural healing. Since then, I have dedicated myself to studying the intricate balance of the human body and spirit.
I am a firm believer that we are integral beings. We are not just a collection of symptoms, but a beautiful, complex harmony of mind, body, and soul. This philosophy is at the heart of everything I do at Inner Ayurveda.
My greatest passion is exploring holistic practices and natural methods that honor our body’s innate wisdom. I am constantly learning and refining my craft to bring you the most authentic and effective Ayurvedic treatments. My goal is to guide you back to your most natural, vibrant state through personalized care and time-tested rituals.
I look forward to holding space for your healing journey here in the East Bay.
